Wellbeing at Work 12-month comprehensive mental health & wellbeing training programme. Designed to embed a positive culture for workplace wellbeing. This is an in-depth 12-month programme for mental wellbeing at work You will have a dedicated course tutor to support you through the course. Along with a team of instructors who are mental health clinicians, see below for more information on the instructor team.
Learners will:

Be a First Aider for Mental Health (NUCO).

Gain understanding of diversity and its relationship with mental health.
Gain an understanding of the most common mental health issues.
Have skills to approach and hold effective wellbeing conversations, with confidence.
Learn to spot early signs & symptoms, of mental ill health. Encourage appropriate support using the mental wellbeing tools and resources available in MINDWELL.
Have a mental health action plan.
Confidence to support someone in mental health crisis.
Review / Create a wellbeing / mental health policy
Learn how to create and maintain a positive workplace culture
A comprehensive tool kit. A full resource pack to support yourself and those around you. Lifetime access to MINDWELL.
The course includes live instructor led training sessions, alongside individual learning and guided reading, completed at the learners own pace. All completed through MINDWELL.
Instructors are Registered Mental Health Nurses or Clinicians with 20+ years’ experience, as well as their own lived experiences, with a wealth of knowledge bringing the content to life.
Groups of 6 - 16 delegates for closed groups. Individuals can join a public cohort during the following months Feb, May, Aug and Nov each year.

A range of methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).
Certification
A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years.

Qualification Structure.
This qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA).
FAA are an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation. the qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RFQ) and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Unit title: Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
SCQF Level 6 Award
Qualification title: Award in Leading First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 6

Duration 09:30 - 17:00 with regular breaks throughout the day This is a continuation of Level 2 Day one completed at unit Five.
Learning Outcomes
Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for mental health.
Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a suspected mental health condition.
Know how to recognise and manage stress
Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place.
Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace.
Understand a range of mental health disorders and the support/therapy provided by professional healthcare providers.
Assessment
The qualification is assessed through video conferencing software by professional discussion with the trainer/assessor and practical demonstration of the application of the first aid action plan for mental health.
Learners must successfully pass both parts of the assessment to be awarded the qualification. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred.
Certification
A Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
